I asked a friend to list books liked by other young women of twelve years of age who like Redwall/ Brian Jacques. Her answer was:

"""

Some good fantasy/fiction books are called the Immortal series by Tamora Peirce. I would recommend those to her. The first book is called Wild magic, if you are okay letting her read books with magic in them. I wouldn't recommend the other books by this author. They aren't very appropriate for some one her age.

Another good book is the blue sword. It's set in the late 1800's early 1900's, but it has horse-back fighting and tactics in it. Very interesting.

Also, I'd just go to the library and get books on how castles, and such were built. I highly recommend all of these books.

In the quiet black, inviting. I think I’ll just… rest now. In black. I breathe in… and remember… This is the same hospital… the same room where she… Left. The accident, the screaming people, the machines that suddenly stopped beeping. It isn’t like that for me. I’m an old man… everyone’s gone now. She was the first, though. I miss… everything about her. It’s funny… I don’t remember yesterday… But I remember her. I breathe out. I still remember. I breathe in. The machine beeps… and beeps… It’s so annoying, really… End of my life and that’s all that’s left: t
